Sunset Cliffs Natural Park

Preserve, Protect & Restore

Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is a public park in the City of San Diego. It stretches for more than a mile along the Sunset Cliffs above the Pacific Ocean, from Ocean Beach to Naval Base Point Loma.

The narrow, 8-acre, northern part - “the Linear” - 8 acres, adjoins Sunset Cliffs Boulevard.

The broad, 60-acre, southern part - “the Hillside” - slopes below Point Loma Nazarene University.

Pedestrian trails, with benches, run the length of the park and up and down the Hillside. Six off-street parking lots accommodate the vehicles of visitors.

Our Mission:

  • To preserve and protect sensitive coastal habitat and fragile landforms
    in Sunset Cliffs Natural Park

  • To work with governmental agencies and community partners to accomplish habitat restoration with nature-based solutions that build coastal resilience.

  • To enhance public understanding of the unique features of the Park.
